Prayer Devotional Guide

Week 1: Foundation of Prayer and Presence

Sunday, August 18, 2024 – Saturday, August 24, 2024

Sunday, August 18, 2024 - Day 1: "Seeking First"

Scripture: Matthew 6:33 - "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

Devotion:
In our journey of faith, the priority of our hearts is crucial. Jesus calls us to seek His kingdom and righteousness above all else. This means prioritizing a relationship with Jesus, understanding His teachings, and embodying His love in our daily lives. Just as a compass points north, our hearts should be directed towards God's kingdom, aligning our desires and actions with His will.

When we seek Jesus first, we align ourselves with God's purposes, allowing His love and righteousness to flow through us. This not only transforms our personal lives but also empowers us to love others authentically. Through prayer, we deepen our connection with Jesus, enabling us to hear His voice and follow His guidance. In this way, our relationship with Him becomes the foundation for loving God and people, and for empowering others to lead.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to seek Your kingdom and righteousness above all else. Align my heart with Your will, and let Your love flow through me to others. Draw me closer to You, that I may know You more deeply and follow You more faithfully. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God of all creation, we seek Your kingdom and righteousness as a church. Guide us in our mission to love You and others, and empower us to lead with compassion and grace. As we prepare to share our vision, may we do so with hearts fully aligned with Your will, trusting that You will provide all that we need. Amen.

Day 2: "Anxious for Nothing"

Scripture: Philippians 4:6-7 - "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Devotion:
Anxiety often arises when we focus on our problems instead of God's promises. Jesus invites us to bring all our worries and concerns to Him in prayer. By doing so, we acknowledge that He is in control and that His peace surpasses our understanding. This peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of Jesus in the midst of it.

In every situation, we are called to pray with thanksgiving, trusting that Jesus is working for our good. When we surrender our anxieties to Him, we experience His peace, which guards our hearts and minds. This peace empowers us to love others from a place of rest and security, confident in God's provision and care.

Personal Prayer:
God of peace, I bring my worries and anxieties before You. Thank You for the assurance that You are in control. Fill me with Your peace, and help me to trust in Your goodness. May Your presence guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
Jesus, we lift up our church and all our concerns to You. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we do so without anxiety, trusting in Your perfect plan. Fill us with Your peace, and help us to be a source of calm and love for others. Guide us as we seek to love You and empower leaders in Your name. Amen.

Day 3: "Rejoicing in Prayer"

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 - "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

Devotion:
Joy and prayer are inseparable in the life of a believer. Jesus teaches us to rejoice always, not because life is without difficulties, but because our joy is rooted in Him. Continuous prayer is an expression of our dependence on Jesus, acknowledging that we need Him in every moment. Giving thanks in all circumstances reflects our trust in God's sovereignty and goodness.

As we journey together as a church, rejoicing in prayer reminds us to focus on Jesus, who is the source of our joy. It is through a constant connection with Him that we find the strength to love others and fulfill our mission. Let us cultivate a spirit of gratitude, knowing that God is working all things for our good.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, I rejoice in Your love and grace. Help me to pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances, knowing that You are with me. May my joy be a witness to others of Your goodness and love. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we rejoice in Your faithfulness and love. As a church, help us to pray without ceasing and give thanks in every situation. May our joy and gratitude draw others to You, and may we faithfully fulfill our mission to love and empower others in Christ. Amen.

Day 4: "The Nearness of God"

Scripture: Psalm 145:18 - "The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth."

Devotion:
The promise of God's nearness is a source of great comfort and strength. Jesus is always close to those who seek Him with sincere hearts. This nearness means that we are never alone; His presence is a constant reality in our lives. When we call on Jesus in truth, we experience His love, guidance, and support.

In our mission to love God and people, the awareness of Jesus' presence is crucial. It empowers us to act with compassion and courage, knowing that He is with us every step of the way. As we prepare to share our vision, let us remember that Jesus is near, guiding and sustaining us in all our endeavors.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, I thank You for Your constant presence in my life. Help me to call on You with a sincere heart and to trust in Your nearness. May Your presence give me the courage to love and serve others faithfully. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we are grateful for Your nearness to our church. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, remind us that You are with us. May Your presence guide us in all our efforts, and may we reflect Your love to those around us. Amen.

Day 5: "Devotion in Prayer"

Scripture: Colossians 4:2 - "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."

Devotion:
Devotion to prayer is an essential aspect of our spiritual lives. It is through prayer that we communicate with Jesus, express our love for Him, and seek His guidance. Being watchful means being attentive to God's work in our lives and the world around us. Thankfulness is a natural response to God's goodness and grace.

As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be devoted to prayer, always watchful and thankful. In doing so, we open ourselves to Jesus' guidance and power. Our commitment to prayer not only strengthens our relationship with Jesus but also equips us to love others more deeply and to empower leaders within our church community.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, I commit to being devoted in prayer. Help me to be watchful and thankful, always seeking Your presence and guidance. May my prayers be a reflection of my love for You and my desire to see Your will done in my life. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we dedicate ourselves to prayer as a church. As we seek to love You and others, and to empower leaders, may we do so with a heart of gratitude and watchfulness. Guide us in all our preparations and help us to stay faithful to Your calling. Amen.

Day 6: "Praying in the Spirit"

Scripture: Ephesians 6:18 - "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."

Devotion:
Praying in the Spirit involves allowing the Holy Spirit to guide our prayers. It means being open to God's leading and being sensitive to the needs of others. The Spirit intercedes for us, helping us to pray according to God's will. This kind of prayer keeps us connected to Jesus and aligned with His purposes.

As we prepare to share our mission and vision, praying in the Spirit is essential. It helps us to discern God's will and to pray effectively for our church community. By staying alert and persistent in prayer, we support one another and seek God's guidance in all our efforts. Let us rely on the Holy Spirit to lead us in our prayers and to empower us to fulfill our mission.

Personal Prayer:
Holy Spirit, guide my prayers and help me to pray according to God's will. Keep me alert and sensitive to the needs of others. May my prayers be empowered by Your presence, and may they reflect my desire to follow Jesus. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we ask for the guidance of Your Holy Spirit in our prayers. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, help us to pray with discernment and perseverance. May our prayers be a source of strength and encouragement for our church community. Amen.

Day 7: "Faithful in Prayer"

Scripture: Romans 12:12 - "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."

Devotion:
Faithfulness in prayer is a mark of a vibrant spiritual life. It means staying committed to prayer regardless of our circumstances. Jesus calls us to be joyful in hope, patient in trials, and steadfast in prayer. This kind of faithfulness reflects a deep trust in God's love and sovereignty.

As we conclude this week of devotion, let us commit to being faithful in prayer. Our joy, patience, and faithfulness in prayer will sustain us as we prepare to share our mission and vision. Let us encourage one another to stay connected to Jesus, trusting that He will guide and provide for us in all things.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to be faithful in prayer. In times of joy and in times of trial, may I remain steadfast in my commitment to You. Fill me with hope and patience, and let my life be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we commit to being faithful in prayer as a church. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and steadfast in our prayers. Guide us and use us to fulfill Your purposes in our community. Amen.

Week 2: Vision of Outreach

Sunday, August 25 – Saturday, August 31

Sunday, August 25, 2024 - Day 1: "The Great Commission"

Scripture: Matthew 28:19-20 - "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Devotion:
The Great Commission is the call of Jesus to all His followers. It is not a suggestion but a command to actively engage in making disciples of all nations. This mission involves going, baptizing, and teaching others to obey Jesus' teachings. Our outreach efforts are an expression of our obedience to this command, reflecting our love for God and for others.

Jesus assures us of His constant presence as we carry out this mission. This promise gives us confidence and boldness to share the gospel, knowing that we are not alone. As we reach out to our community and beyond, let us remember that we are fulfilling Jesus' command and that His presence empowers and guides us.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the Great Commission. Help me to be faithful in sharing Your love and truth with others. Give me the courage and wisdom to make disciples in my community and beyond. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we commit to Your Great Commission as a church. Empower us to go and make disciples, baptizing and teaching others to follow You. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we do so with confidence, knowing that You are with us always. Amen.

Day 2: "Witnesses to the Ends of the Earth"

Scripture: Acts 1:8 - "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Devotion:
The promise of the Holy Spirit's power is central to our role as witnesses for Jesus. The Spirit enables us to share the gospel boldly and effectively, starting from our local community (Jerusalem) and extending to the ends of the earth. Our witness is not limited to words; it includes our actions and the way we live out our faith.

As we engage in outreach, we rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us and empower us. Our mission is to be witnesses of Jesus' love and grace, sharing our testimonies and showing His love through acts of service. Let us embrace this calling with the confidence that the Holy Spirit equips us for this task.

Personal Prayer:
Holy Spirit, fill me with Your power and enable me to be a witness for Jesus. Help me to share the gospel with boldness and to live out my faith in a way that draws others to You. Guide my words and actions as I reach out to those around me. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to be upon our church as we witness to Your love and grace. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we do so with boldness and clarity. Empower us to reach our community and beyond with the message of Jesus. Amen.

Day 3: "Shining Light in the World"

Scripture: Matthew 5:16 - "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

Devotion:
Jesus calls us to be the light of the world, shining brightly in a world that often feels dark. Our good deeds, motivated by love for God and others, are a reflection of Jesus' light within us. When we serve and love others, we point them to God and bring glory to Him.

Our outreach efforts are an opportunity to let our light shine. Whether it's through acts of kindness, community service, or simply sharing a word of encouragement, we can make a difference. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be intentional about being a light in our community, demonstrating God's love through our actions.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to be a light in the world. May my actions reflect Your love and bring glory to God. Use me to touch the lives of others and to point them to You. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray that our church would be a beacon of light in our community. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may our good deeds glorify You and draw others to know and love You. Help us to shine brightly with the light of Jesus. Amen.

Day 4: "Willing Servants"

Scripture: Isaiah 6:8 - "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'"

Devotion:
The response of Isaiah to God's call is a powerful example of willingness and obedience. When God asked who would go, Isaiah responded with a willing heart, ready to serve. This same willingness is essential in our outreach efforts. Jesus calls each of us to be willing servants, ready to go wherever He leads and to do whatever He asks.

Our willingness to serve is a reflection of our love for Jesus and our desire to see others experience His love. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be open and ready to say, "Here am I. Send me!" Whether it’s participating in community events, serving in church ministries, or simply reaching out to a neighbor, we are called to be willing vessels for God's work.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, I want to be a willing servant. Here am I; send me wherever You need me. Help me to be open to Your call and to serve with a joyful heart. Use me to share Your love with others. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray for willing hearts in our church community. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we be ready to say, "Here am I. Send me!" Equip us to serve in whatever capacity You call us to, and may our service bring glory to Your name. Amen.

Day 5: "Faith in Action"

Scripture: James 2:14-17 - "What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, 'Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."

Devotion:
True faith in Jesus naturally leads to action. James reminds us that faith without deeds is dead, emphasizing the importance of putting our faith into practice. Our outreach is a tangible expression of our faith, demonstrating the love of Jesus in practical ways.

As we reach out to our community, we are called to meet both spiritual and physical needs. Whether it's providing for the hungry, comforting the hurting, or simply being present with someone in need, our actions speak volumes about our faith. Let us be intentional in our outreach, showing the love of Jesus through our actions as we prepare to share our mission and vision.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to put my faith into action. May my life be a reflection of Your love, meeting the needs of those around me. Give me the courage and compassion to serve others as You have served me. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we ask that our church would be known for its faith in action. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we be a church that meets the needs of our community in tangible ways. Use our actions to draw others to You and to demonstrate the love of Jesus. Amen.

Day 6: "Using Our Gifts"

Scripture: 1 Peter 4:10 - "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."

Devotion:
Each of us has been given unique gifts and talents by God, intended for the service of others. Jesus calls us to be faithful stewards of these gifts, using them to bless others and to glorify God. Our gifts are not meant to be hidden or used solely for our benefit but are to be shared generously.

As we prepare for outreach, it is important to recognize and utilize the gifts God has given us. Whether it's teaching, hospitality, music, or any other talent, each gift has a place in our mission. Let us encourage one another to discover and use our gifts for the benefit of our community, as we share the mission and vision of our church.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the gifts You have given me. Help me to use them to serve others and to bring glory to Your name. Show me how I can use my talents to bless my community and to further Your kingdom. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray for a spirit of stewardship over the gifts You have given our church community. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we encourage one another to use our gifts for Your glory. Help us to serve others faithfully, as stewards of Your grace. Amen.

Day 7: "Doing Good"

Scripture: Hebrews 13:16 - "And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."

Devotion:
The call to do good and to share with others is a fundamental aspect of our faith in Jesus. It reflects the heart of God, who is pleased when we act generously and sacrificially. Doing good involves more than just avoiding harm; it is an active pursuit of kindness and generosity.

As we engage in outreach, we have the opportunity to embody the love of Jesus through our actions. Whether it's sharing resources, offering a helping hand, or simply being present with someone in need, we are called to do good. Let us commit to a lifestyle of generosity and kindness, as we prepare to share the mission and vision of our church.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to remember to do good and to share with others. May my actions be a reflection of Your love and generosity. Guide me in finding ways to bless those around me and to be a source of Your grace. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray that our church would be known for its commitment to doing good and sharing with others. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we be a church that embodies the love of Jesus through our actions. Please give us opportunities to serve and bless our community in meaningful ways. Amen.

Week 3: Witnessing Through Testimonies

Sunday, September 1, 2024 – Saturday, September 7, 2024

Sunday, September 1, 2024 - Day 1: "Ready to Share"

Scripture: 1 Peter 3:15 - "But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect."

Devotion:
Our testimonies are powerful tools for sharing the gospel. Peter encourages us to always be ready to explain the hope we have in Jesus. This readiness comes from a deep reverence for Christ, rooted in a personal relationship with Him. When we share our stories, we provide a tangible expression of God's work in our lives, inviting others to experience His love and grace.

It's important to share our testimonies with gentleness and respect, understanding that everyone is on their own spiritual journey. Our goal is to present the truth of Jesus in a way that is loving and respectful, allowing the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be ready to share the reason for our hope with those we encounter.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to always be ready to share the hope I have in You. Give me the words to speak and the courage to share my story with gentleness and respect. May my testimony be a witness to Your grace and love. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray that our church would be a community ready to share the hope we have in Jesus. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we do so with gentleness and respect, always pointing others to the transformative power of Your love. Amen.

Day 2: "Come and See"

Scripture: Psalm 66:16 - "Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me."

Devotion:
Sharing our testimonies is an invitation for others to witness the work of God in our lives. The psalmist's invitation, "Come and hear," reflects a heart eager to share God's goodness. Our personal stories of God's faithfulness and love can inspire and encourage others, revealing the reality of His presence and power.

When we tell others about what God has done for us, we provide a glimpse into His character and His desire to be involved in every aspect of our lives. Our testimonies can be a catalyst for others to seek a deeper relationship with Jesus. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us boldly declare the works of God in our lives and invite others to experience His love.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, I thank You for the many ways You have worked in my life. Help me to share my story with others, inviting them to see Your goodness and grace. Use my testimony to draw others closer to You. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray that our church would be a place where testimonies of Your goodness are freely shared. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we invite others to come and see what You have done in our lives. Let our stories be a testament to Your faithfulness and love. Amen.

Day 3: "Confession of Faith"

Scripture: Romans 10:9-10 - "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."

Devotion:
The confession of faith is a powerful declaration of our belief in Jesus Christ. It is both an inward belief and an outward expression. When we declare that "Jesus is Lord" and believe in His resurrection, we affirm the core truths of the Christian faith. This confession is not just a one-time event but a continuous affirmation of our commitment to Jesus.

As we share our testimonies, we openly profess our faith, bearing witness to the transformative power of Jesus in our lives. Our confessions can encourage others to explore their own beliefs and consider the claims of Christ. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us boldly confess our faith in Jesus and the salvation He offers.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, I confess that You are Lord and believe in Your resurrection. Strengthen my faith and help me to share it with others. May my words and actions reflect my commitment to You. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray that our church would be a community that boldly confesses faith in Jesus Christ. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may our declaration of faith inspire others to seek and find salvation in You. Let us be unwavering in our proclamation of Your truth. Amen.

Day 4: "Testifying to His Love"

Scripture: John 4:39 - "Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony, 'He told me everything I ever did.'"

Devotion:
The story of the Samaritan woman is a powerful example of how a personal encounter with Jesus can transform lives and lead others to faith. Her testimony, simple yet profound, drew many in her town to believe in Jesus. She shared how Jesus knew her deepest struggles and still offered her living water, a new life in Him.

Our own testimonies, like hers, can be powerful tools for witnessing to others. When we share how Jesus has touched our lives, we offer a glimpse of His love and compassion. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be like the Samaritan woman, boldly sharing our encounters with Jesus and inviting others to experience His transformative love.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for knowing me completely and loving me unconditionally. Help me to share my story with others, that they may come to know Your love and grace. May my testimony lead others to believe in You. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray that our church would be a place where personal testimonies of Your love are shared and celebrated. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may our stories draw others to experience Your compassion and grace. Use our testimonies to bring many to faith in Jesus. Amen.

Day 5: "Cannot Keep Silent"

Scripture: Acts 4:20 - "As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard."

Devotion:
The apostles' response to the authorities in Acts 4 reflects their unwavering commitment to proclaiming the gospel. Despite threats and opposition, they boldly declared that they could not keep silent about what they had witnessed. Their encounters with Jesus and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit compelled them to share the good news.

As followers of Jesus, we too are called to speak about what we have seen and heard. Our experiences with God's love and faithfulness are too significant to keep to ourselves. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be bold and unashamed in sharing our testimonies, trusting that God will use our words to touch hearts and change lives.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, I cannot keep silent about what You have done in my life. Give me the courage to speak boldly about Your love and grace. Use my testimony to glorify Your name and to draw others to You. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray that our church would be a community that cannot keep silent about Your goodness. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we boldly proclaim the gospel and share our testimonies. Let our words be filled with Your truth and love, reaching those who need to hear about Jesus. Amen.

Day 6: "Overcoming by the Word"

Scripture: Revelation 12:11 - "They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death."

Devotion:
The book of Revelation describes how believers overcome the enemy through the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. The victory is secured through Jesus' sacrifice and our faithful witness. Our testimonies are powerful declarations of God's victory in our lives, testifying to His saving grace and faithfulness.

In sharing our testimonies, we participate in this triumph over darkness. We declare the truth of Jesus' victory and the reality of His transformative power. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us remember that our testimonies are not just stories; they are powerful weapons against the enemy, proclaiming the hope and salvation found in Jesus.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for Your victory over sin and death. Help me to share my testimony boldly, proclaiming Your power and grace. May my story be a testimony to Your victory in my life. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we thank You for the victory we have in Jesus. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we boldly proclaim the word of our testimonies. Let our stories of Your saving grace and faithfulness be a beacon of hope to all who hear them. Amen.

Day 7: "Unashamed Witness"

Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:8 - "So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God."

Devotion:
Paul's encouragement to Timothy to not be ashamed of the testimony about Jesus is a call to boldness in our witness. The gospel message is powerful and transformative, and we should never be ashamed to share it. Even in the face of opposition or suffering, we are called to stand firm and boldly proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ.

As we share our testimonies, we may encounter challenges or resistance. However, we can draw strength from the power of God, knowing that He is with us. Our willingness to share the gospel, even in difficult circumstances, is a testament to our faith and commitment to Jesus. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be unashamed witnesses, boldly declaring the good news of Jesus.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to be unashamed of the gospel and my testimony about You. Give me the courage to share Your love and truth, even in the face of challenges. Let my life be a bold witness to Your grace and power. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray for boldness in sharing the gospel and our testimonies. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we be unashamed witnesses of Jesus Christ. Strengthen us with Your power, and let our lives reflect the transformative truth of the gospel. Amen.

Week 4: Nurturing Through Discipleship

Sunday, September 8, 2024 – Saturday, September 14, 2024

Sunday, September 8, 2024 - Day 1: "Equipping the Saints"

Scripture: Ephesians 4:11-13 - "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."

Devotion:
Jesus has given gifts and roles within the church to equip and build up His people. The purpose of these gifts is to prepare believers for works of service, enabling the body of Christ to grow in unity and maturity. True discipleship involves not only personal growth but also the empowerment of others to serve and grow in their faith.

As we nurture others in their spiritual journey, we are called to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary for ministry. This involves teaching, mentoring, and providing opportunities for service. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us focus on equipping our church community to live out their faith and contribute to the body of Christ.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the gifts and leaders You have given to equip Your church. Help me to grow in my faith and to use my gifts to serve others. May I contribute to the building up of the body of Christ and help others reach maturity in You. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray for our church as we seek to equip and build up the body of Christ. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we focus on nurturing and empowering one another for works of service. Help us to reach unity in faith and maturity in Christ. Amen.

Day 2: "The Power of Scripture"

Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 - "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Devotion:
The Bible is God's inspired Word, given to us for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. It is through Scripture that we gain wisdom and guidance for living a life that pleases God. As disciples of Jesus, immersing ourselves in the Word is crucial for our spiritual growth and for equipping us for good works.

Nurturing through discipleship involves helping others engage with Scripture, understand its teachings, and apply it to their lives. The Bible serves as our ultimate guide, providing the foundation for our beliefs and actions. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us commit to grounding ourselves and others in the truth of God's Word.

Personal Prayer:
God, thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Help me to study and apply Scripture in my life. May I grow in righteousness and be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
Jesus, we thank You for the gift of Scripture. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may our church be rooted in Your Word. Help us to teach, rebuke, correct, and train one another in righteousness, so that we may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Amen.

Day 3: "Obedience to Christ"

Scripture: Matthew 28:20 - "And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Devotion:
Jesus' command to make disciples includes teaching them to obey everything He has commanded. Obedience to Christ is a fundamental aspect of discipleship, as it reflects our commitment to following His teachings and living according to His will. True discipleship goes beyond knowledge; it involves a transformation of heart and life that leads to obedience.

As we nurture others in their faith, we must emphasize the importance of obeying Jesus' commands. This obedience is not a burden but a response of love and gratitude for His grace. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us encourage one another to live in obedience to Christ, trusting in His presence and guidance.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to obey Your commands and follow Your teachings. May my life reflect Your love and grace as I seek to live according to Your will. Strengthen my commitment to You and guide me in all my ways. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray for a spirit of obedience within our church community. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we teach and encourage one another to obey everything Jesus has commanded. Help us to live out our faith with integrity and commitment. Amen.

Day 4: "Proclaiming Christ"

Scripture: Colossians 1:28 - "He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ."

Devotion:
Proclaiming Christ is at the heart of discipleship. We are called to share the message of Jesus with wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another. The goal is to present everyone fully mature in Christ, growing in faith and becoming more like Him. This maturity involves a deep understanding of who Jesus is and a life transformed by His grace.

As we nurture others, we must prioritize the proclamation of Christ, ensuring that He remains the central focus of all our teaching and ministry. Whether through preaching, teaching, or personal conversations, our aim is to help others grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be committed to proclaiming Christ in all we do.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, You are the one I proclaim. Help me to share Your message with wisdom and grace. May I grow in maturity in You and help others to do the same. Use me to lead others to a deeper understanding of Your love and truth. Amen.

God, we pray that our church would be faithful in proclaiming Christ. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we admonish and teach with wisdom, guiding one another to maturity in Jesus. Let our focus always be on sharing the good news of Your love and grace. Amen.

Day 5: "Iron Sharpens Iron"

Scripture: Proverbs 27:17 - "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another."

Devotion:
The Christian journey is not meant to be walked alone. We are called to be in community with one another, encouraging and challenging each other to grow in faith. Just as iron sharpens iron, we sharpen one another through honest conversations, accountability, and mutual support.

Nurturing through discipleship involves building relationships where we can speak truth into each other's lives and spur one another on toward love and good deeds. These relationships are essential for spiritual growth and maturity. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us foster a culture of genuine community where we sharpen and encourage one another in our walk with Christ.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the community of believers You have placed around me. Help me to be an encouragement and support to others, and to receive the same in return. May we sharpen one another and grow together in faith. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray for strong and supportive relationships within our church. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we be a community where iron sharpens iron. Help us to encourage, challenge, and build each other up in love and faith. Amen.

Day 6: "Encouraging One Another"

Scripture: Hebrews 10:24-25 - "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Devotion:
Encouragement is a vital part of the Christian life. We are called to spur one another on toward love and good deeds, encouraging each other in our faith journey. Meeting together regularly, whether in worship, small groups, or informal gatherings, provides the opportunity to support and uplift one another.

As we nurture others in their faith, let us be intentional about encouraging them. A kind word, a listening ear, or a simple gesture of support can make a significant difference in someone's life. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us commit to being a church that actively encourages and supports one another in love and good deeds.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to be an encourager to those around me. May my words and actions spur others on toward love and good deeds. Help me to see the needs of others and to respond with compassion and support. Amen.

God, we pray that our church would be a place of encouragement and support. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Help us to meet together regularly, encouraging each other in faith and love. Amen.

Day 7: "Bearing One Another's Burdens"

Scripture: Galatians 6:2 - "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."

Devotion:
Carrying one another's burdens is a practical expression of Christ's love. We are called to come alongside each other, sharing in the joys and struggles of life. This act of bearing burdens is a tangible way to fulfill the law of Christ, which is to love one another as He has loved us.

Nurturing through discipleship involves being willing to share in the burdens of others, offering support, prayer, and practical help. It is through these acts of love that we demonstrate the reality of Jesus' presence and compassion. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us commit to being a church that carries each other's burdens, reflecting the love of Christ to all.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to carry the burdens of others with compassion and love. May I be a source of support and encouragement to those in need. Teach me to love others as You have loved me. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray that our church would be a community where burdens are shared and carried together. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we fulfill the law of Christ by loving and supporting one another. Help us to be a reflection of Your compassion and love in all we do. Amen.

Week 5: Worship as Encounter

Sunday, September 15 – Saturday, September 21

Sunday, September 15, 2024 - Day 1: "Worship in Spirit and Truth"

Scripture: John 4:23-24 - "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."

Devotion:
Worship is not just an act; it's a way of life. Jesus teaches that true worshipers worship in Spirit and in truth. This means that worship must be genuine and heartfelt, flowing from a relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. It involves both our spirit and our intellect, engaging our emotions and minds in reverence for God.

True worship is about encountering God authentically, beyond rituals and traditions. It is a response to who God is and what He has done for us through Jesus. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us cultivate a heart of worship that seeks to encounter God in Spirit and in truth, offering ourselves wholly to Him.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, teach me to worship in Spirit and in truth. May my worship be genuine and heartfelt, flowing from a deep relationship with You. Help me to encounter You in new and profound ways as I offer myself to You. Amen.

God, we pray that our church would be a community of true worshipers who worship in Spirit and in truth. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may our worship be a genuine encounter with You, transforming our hearts and minds. Amen.

Day 2: "Entering His Gates with Thanksgiving"

Scripture: Psalm 100:4 - "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name."

Devotion:
Thanksgiving is a vital aspect of worship. It opens our hearts to God's presence and reminds us of His goodness and faithfulness. When we enter into worship with a thankful heart, we acknowledge God's blessings and express our gratitude for His love and grace. Thanksgiving shifts our focus from our circumstances to God's character.

As we gather for worship, both corporately and individually, let us come with hearts full of gratitude. Our worship becomes a joyful celebration of God's goodness, and it draws us closer to Him. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us cultivate an attitude of thanksgiving, recognizing God's hand in all aspects of our lives.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, I enter Your presence with thanksgiving in my heart. Thank You for Your countless blessings and for Your love and grace in my life. May my worship be a joyful expression of my gratitude to You. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may our church be filled with gratitude for all You have done and continue to do. Let our worship reflect our thankfulness and bring glory to Your name. Amen.

Day 3: "Worship with Reverence and Awe"

Scripture: Hebrews 12:28 - "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe."

Devotion:
Worshiping with reverence and awe means recognizing the greatness and majesty of God. It involves a deep respect and admiration for who He is. Our worship is a response to His holiness, power, and love. When we approach God with reverence, we acknowledge His authority and our need for Him.

Reverence and awe remind us that worship is not about us, but about exalting God. It draws us into a deeper understanding of His nature and our relationship with Him. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us approach worship with a sense of awe, recognizing the privilege of being in God's presence and receiving His unshakable kingdom.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, I worship You with reverence and awe. You are holy and worthy of all praise. Help me to always approach You with a humble heart, recognizing Your greatness and my dependence on You. Amen.

Day 4: "Praise with All Our Being"

Scripture: Psalm 150:6 - "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord."

Devotion:
Praise is a fundamental expression of worship. The psalmist calls all creation, "everything that has breath," to praise the Lord. This call to praise is inclusive, reminding us that every aspect of our lives should glorify God. Praise involves lifting our voices, hearts, and lives to exalt God, celebrating His goodness and greatness.

As we engage in worship, let us offer our praise wholeheartedly, with all our being. Whether through song, prayer, or acts of service, our praise is a powerful declaration of God's worthiness. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us lead lives of continuous praise, demonstrating our love and devotion to God.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, I praise You with all my being. May my life be a continual offering of praise to You. Thank You for Your love and faithfulness. Help me to live in a way that glorifies You in all I do. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we lift our voices and hearts in praise to You. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may our church be a place where everything that has breath praises the Lord. Let our praise be a joyful celebration of Your greatness and love. Amen.

Day 5: "The Message of Christ in Worship"

Scripture: Colossians 3:16 - "Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts."

Devotion:
Worship is not only about expressing our love for God; it is also an opportunity to let the message of Christ dwell richly among us. Through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, we teach and admonish one another, sharing the truths of the gospel and the teachings of Jesus. Worship becomes a means of edification and encouragement, building up the body of Christ.

As we sing and share the Word, we remind each other of God's promises and the hope we have in Jesus. This communal aspect of worship strengthens our faith and fosters unity. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us embrace worship as a way to immerse ourselves in the message of Christ, growing together in wisdom and gratitude.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, let Your message dwell richly in me. As I worship, may I be reminded of Your truths and teachings. Help me to encourage others with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, building up the body of Christ. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray that the message of Christ would dwell richly among us as a church. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may our worship be filled with wisdom and gratitude. Let us teach and admonish one another, growing in faith and unity. Amen.

Day 6: "Bowing Down in Worship"

Scripture: Psalm 95:6 - "Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker."

Devotion:
Bowing down in worship is a physical expression of our humility and reverence before God. It signifies our recognition of His sovereignty and our submission to His will. Worship is a time to humble ourselves, acknowledging that we are His creation and He is our Creator.

Kneeling before God is a powerful act of worship that expresses our dependence on Him. It is an invitation to surrender our lives to His guidance and care. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us approach God with humility, bowing down in worship and submitting our plans and desires to His perfect will.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, I bow down in worship before You. You are my Creator and King. I surrender my life to Your will and ask for Your guidance in all things. Help me to live in humble submission to Your plans. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:

Day 7: "A Living Sacrifice"

Scripture: Romans 12:1 - "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship."

Devotion:
True worship goes beyond songs and prayers; it encompasses our entire lives. Paul urges us to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. This means dedicating every aspect of our lives to Him, living in a way that honors and glorifies Him. Our daily actions, choices, and attitudes are all part of our worship.

Living as a sacrifice means surrendering our will to God's will, allowing His love and grace to transform us. It is a response to His mercy and a reflection of our commitment to follow Jesus. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us dedicate ourselves to being living sacrifices, embodying true and proper worship in all we do.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, I offer my life as a living sacrifice to You. May my actions, choices, and attitudes be pleasing to You. Help me to live in a way that honors You, reflecting Your love and grace in everything I do. Amen.

Week 6: Anchoring Our Children and Youth

Sunday, September 22 – Saturday, September 28

Sunday, September 22, 2024 - Day 1: "Training Up a Child"

Scripture: Proverbs 22:6 - "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."

Devotion:
The responsibility of nurturing children in faith is a crucial part of our ministry. Proverbs emphasizes the importance of training children in the way they should go, instilling in them the values and teachings of Jesus. This early foundation sets the stage for a lifelong journey of faith and devotion to God.

As a church, we are called to invest in the spiritual growth of our children and youth, guiding them in understanding and living out the teachings of Jesus. This includes creating environments where they can learn, ask questions, and grow in their relationship with God. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us commit to being intentional in nurturing the next generation, ensuring they have a strong spiritual foundation.

Jesus, help me to be a faithful guide to the children and youth in my life. Give me wisdom and patience as I teach them Your ways. May they grow to love and follow You all the days of their lives. Amen.

Day 2: "Let the Little Children Come"

Scripture: Matthew 19:14 - "Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'"

Devotion:
Jesus' words reveal His deep love and concern for children. He welcomed them and valued their presence, reminding us that the kingdom of heaven belongs to those with childlike faith. Jesus' invitation to the children reflects His desire for them to know Him and be a part of His kingdom.

As a church, we must create welcoming and safe environments where children feel loved and valued. This involves not only teaching them about Jesus but also modeling His love through our actions. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be intentional in making our church a place where children are encouraged to come to Jesus, grow in their faith, and experience His love.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for Your love for children. Help me to welcome and value them as You do. May I be a positive influence in their lives, guiding them to know and follow You. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray that our church would be a welcoming place for children. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we embrace Jesus' call to let the little children come. Help us to nurture their faith and show them Your love and grace. Amen.

Day 3: "Bringing Them Up in the Lord"

Scripture: Ephesians 6:4 - "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."

Devotion:
Paul's exhortation to parents, particularly fathers, emphasizes the importance of raising children in a nurturing and godly environment. This includes providing spiritual guidance, teaching them about Jesus, and setting an example of godly living. It is crucial to create a loving and supportive atmosphere where children can grow in their understanding of God.

As a church community, we support parents and guardians in this important task. We provide resources, programs, and encouragement to help families disciple their children. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us commit to partnering with families, helping them raise their children in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Personal Prayer:

Help us to be a community that nurtures and guides the next generation in their faith journey. Amen.

Day 4: "Impressing God's Commands"

Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:6-7 - "These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."

Devotion:
God's commandments are meant to be an integral part of our daily lives. Moses instructs the Israelites to impress these commandments on their children, integrating them into everyday conversations and activities. This continuous teaching helps children understand the importance of God's Word and how it applies to all aspects of life.

As we nurture our children and youth, we should be intentional about sharing God's teachings with them in everyday situations. Whether at home, in the car, or during daily routines, we have opportunities to discuss God's Word and its relevance. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us commit to impressing God's commands on the hearts of the next generation, helping them develop a deep and abiding faith.

Jesus, help me to faithfully share Your Word with the children in my life. May Your commandments be on my heart and in my conversations. Guide me in teaching them to love and obey You. Amen.

Day 5: "Telling the Next Generation"

Scripture: Psalm 78:4 - "We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done."

Devotion:
The psalmist emphasizes the importance of sharing the stories of God's mighty works with the next generation. By recounting the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, we pass on a legacy of faith and remind the young of God's power and faithfulness. This storytelling helps to build their trust in God and inspire them to seek Him.

As a church, we have a responsibility to tell the next generation about the wonders God has done. This includes sharing biblical stories, testimonies, and experiences of God's goodness. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be intentional in communicating God's greatness to our children and youth, inspiring them to trust and follow Him.

Day 6: "Youth as Examples in Faith"

Scripture: 1 Timothy 4:12 - "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."

Devotion:
Paul encourages Timothy, a young leader, to set an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. This message underscores the value and potential of young people in the church. They are not just the future of the church; they are vital contributors to the present. Their enthusiasm, fresh perspectives, and energy can inspire the entire congregation.

As we nurture our youth, we should encourage them to be examples in their faith, empowering them to lead and serve. By providing opportunities for them to engage and take responsibility, we affirm their role in the body of Christ. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us recognize and celebrate the contributions of our youth, encouraging them to live out their faith boldly.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to encourage the youth around me to set an example in their faith. May they grow in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Empower them to be bold witnesses for You. Amen.

Day 7: "Guiding the Young in God's Path"

Scripture: Psalm 119:9 - "How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word."

Devotion:
The psalmist poses a crucial question about how young people can maintain purity in their lives. The answer lies in living according to God's Word. The Scriptures provide guidance, wisdom, and principles that help individuals make godly choices and live lives that honor God.

As a church, we play a vital role in guiding our young people in understanding and applying God's Word. This includes teaching them biblical principles, encouraging them to seek God's guidance, and supporting them in their spiritual journey. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us commit to being a source of support and guidance for our youth, helping them to live according to God's Word.

Week 7: Missions and Community Impact

Sunday, September 29 – Saturday, October 5

Sunday, September 29, 2024 - Day 1: "Go and Make Disciples"

Scripture: Matthew 28:19-20 - "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Devotion:
The Great Commission is a mandate given by Jesus to all believers. It calls us to actively go and make disciples of all nations, sharing the good news of Jesus and teaching others to follow His commands. This mission is not limited to pastors or missionaries; it is the responsibility of every follower of Christ.

Our involvement in missions and community outreach is an expression of our obedience to this command. It reflects our desire to see others come to know Jesus and grow in their faith. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us commit to being active participants in the Great Commission, reaching out to our community and beyond with the love and message of Jesus.

Day 2: "Being a Light to the World"

Scripture: Acts 13:47 - "For this is what the Lord has commanded us: 'I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.'"

Devotion:
As followers of Jesus, we are called to be a light to the world, shining brightly in the darkness and bringing the message of salvation to those who have not heard it. Our mission is to reflect the light of Christ in our words and actions, pointing others to the hope and love found in Him.

Being a light means being intentional about sharing the gospel and living out our faith in a way that draws others to Jesus. It involves reaching out to those who are lost, marginalized, or hurting, offering them the hope of salvation. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us embrace our role as bearers of light, committed to bringing the message of Jesus to the ends of the earth.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to be a light in the world, reflecting Your love and truth. Use me to bring the message of salvation to those who need it. May my life be a testimony of Your grace and hope. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray that our church would be a beacon of light in our community and beyond. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we be faithful in bringing salvation to the ends of the earth. Let our words and actions reflect Your love and truth, drawing others to You. Amen.

Day 3: "Pure and Faultless Religion"

Scripture: James 1:27 - "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

Devotion:
True religion, according to James, involves caring for those in need and living a life of purity. This verse highlights two essential aspects of our faith: compassionate service and personal holiness. Looking after orphans and widows represents our call to serve the vulnerable and marginalized, while keeping oneself unpolluted by the world speaks to living a life set apart for God.

Our mission work and community outreach are expressions of this pure and faultless religion. As we serve others, we demonstrate the love of Jesus and bring hope to those in distress. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be committed to caring for the needy and living lives that honor God.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to live out a pure and faultless religion. May I be compassionate towards those in need and committed to living a holy life. Use me to care for the vulnerable and to reflect Your love and holiness. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:
God, we pray that our church would embody the true religion You desire. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we be dedicated to caring for orphans, widows, and all who are in distress. Help us to live lives that are unpolluted by the world, honoring You in all we do. Amen.

Day 4: "Love in Action"

Scripture: 1 John 3:17-18 - "If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth."

Devotion:
The apostle John emphasizes that love must be expressed through actions and truth, not just words. True love compels us to respond to the needs of others, using the resources we have to make a difference in their lives. It is a practical demonstration of God's love working through us.

Our mission and community outreach efforts are ways we put love into action. By addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, we show the love of Jesus in tangible ways. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us commit to being a church that loves not just in words, but in actions and truth.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, teach me to love others with actions and in truth. Help me to be generous with the resources You've given me and to respond to the needs of those around me. May my actions reflect Your love and compassion. Amen.

Corporate Prayer:

Day 5: "Serving Jesus Through Serving Others"

Scripture: Matthew 25:35-36 - "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."

Devotion:
In this passage, Jesus identifies Himself with the needy, teaching that serving others is serving Him. Our acts of compassion and service are seen as ministry to Jesus Himself. This powerful truth calls us to recognize the value and dignity of every person, and to respond to their needs with love and care.

As we engage in missions and community outreach, we are serving Jesus by serving others. Whether it's feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, or welcoming strangers, we are ministering to Christ in the process. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be intentional in our service, seeing Jesus in those we serve and offering our love and care to Him.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to see You in those I serve. May I respond to the needs of others with love and compassion, knowing that in doing so, I am serving You. Use my actions to bring Your love and care to those in need. Amen.

God, we pray that our church would faithfully serve Jesus through serving others. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, may we be a community that recognizes Your presence in the needy and responds with love and compassion. Let our service be a reflection of our love for You. Amen.

Day 6: "The Blessing of Serving"

Scripture: Isaiah 58:10 - "If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday."

Devotion:
Isaiah speaks of the blessings that come from serving others. When we spend ourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, we reflect God's light in the world. Our acts of service not only bless those we help but also bring blessings to our own lives, as God's light shines through us.

Serving others is a way to demonstrate the love of Jesus and to be a light in a dark world. It brings hope and transformation, both to those we serve and to ourselves. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us be generous in our service, knowing that God blesses those who give of themselves for others.

Personal Prayer:
Jesus, help me to be generous in serving others. May I spend myself on behalf of the hungry and oppressed, reflecting Your light in the darkness. Let my service bring hope and blessing to those in need and to my own life. Amen.

Day 7: "The Harvest is Plentiful"

Scripture: Luke 10:2 - "He told them, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'"

Devotion:
Jesus reminds us that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. There are countless people in need of the gospel, love, and service, and there is a great opportunity for ministry. This verse calls us to pray for more workers to join in the mission of sharing the good news and serving others.

As a church, we are called to be workers in God's harvest field, reaching out to those who need to hear about Jesus and experience His love. We are also called to pray for more people to join in this mission. As we prepare to share our mission and vision, let us commit to being faithful workers and to praying for more laborers to join us in the harvest.

Hospitality is a powerful expression of Christian love. By welcoming others into our homes and church, we create spaces where people can feel valued and loved. Fellowship allows us to connect, build relationships, and share our faith in a welcoming environment.

As we execute our outreach strategies, let us focus on creating a culture of hospitality within our church. This includes welcoming newcomers, providing opportunities for fellowship, and ensuring that everyone feels included and cared for. Our goal is to create a warm and inviting atmosphere where people can experience the love of Jesus.

Scripture: Matthew 5:16 - "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

Devotion:

Engaging with our community is a vital part of our mission. By letting our light shine through good deeds, we can make a positive impact and point others to Jesus. This involves actively participating in community events, volunteering, and meeting the needs of those around us.

As we implement our outreach strategies, let us be intentional in engaging with our community. Our goal is to be a visible presence, known for our love and service. Through our actions, we can glorify God and share the message of His love with those who may not yet know Him.

Personal Prayer:

Jesus, help me to be a light in my community. Use my good deeds to point others to You and bring glory to Your name. May I be a positive influence and a reflection of Your love. Amen.

God, we pray that our church would actively engage with our community. As we execute our outreach strategies, may we be known for our good deeds and our love for others. Let our actions glorify You and draw people to Jesus. Amen.

Day 3: "Serving with Purpose"

Scripture: 1 Peter 4:10 - "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."

Devotion:

Each of us has been given unique gifts and talents to serve others. Using these gifts purposefully allows us to be faithful stewards of God’s grace. Serving others is not just a duty; it is a privilege and an opportunity to demonstrate God’s love.

As we put our outreach plans into action, let us encourage everyone to use their gifts in service. Whether through teaching, hospitality, music, or another talent, each person’s contribution is valuable. Together, we can make a significant impact in our church and community.

Devotion:

Building meaningful relationships is essential to our mission. Jesus commands us to love one another as He has loved us. This love is a powerful witness to the world and a testament to our identity as His disciples. Building relationships involves being intentional in connecting with others, showing genuine care, and creating a supportive community.

As we implement our outreach strategies, let us prioritize building strong, loving relationships. This includes connecting with new people, deepening existing relationships, and fostering a sense of belonging within our church. Our love for one another should be evident to all and serve as a reflection of Christ's love.

Devotion:

Effective communication is key to sharing our mission and vision. Paul encourages us to have conversations that are full of grace and seasoned with salt. This means speaking truthfully and lovingly, being mindful of our words, and being ready to share the hope we have in Jesus.

As we execute our outreach strategies, let us focus on clear and gracious communication. Whether through personal conversations, public speaking, or written materials, our message should reflect the grace and truth of the gospel. Let us be prepared to answer questions and share our faith in a way that is respectful and engaging.

Devotion:

Faithful stewardship involves managing the resources and responsibilities God has entrusted to us. This includes our time, talents, finances, and opportunities to serve. Being faithful stewards means using these resources wisely and generously, always seeking to honor God and further His kingdom.

As we implement our outreach plans, let us be diligent in stewarding the resources available to us. This includes budgeting wisely, using our facilities effectively, and mobilizing volunteers. Our goal is to maximize our impact for God's glory and ensure that our efforts are sustainable and effective.

Sunday, October 13, 2024 - Day 1: "Raising Up New Leaders"

Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:2 - "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others."

Devotion:

One of the key aspects of church growth and sustainability is raising up new leaders. Paul instructs Timothy to entrust what he has learned to reliable people who can teach others. This principle of multiplication ensures that the work of ministry continues and expands.

As we execute our outreach strategies, let us focus on identifying and empowering new leaders within our church. By providing training, mentorship, and opportunities to serve, we can equip them to take on leadership roles and responsibilities. This investment in leadership development will help ensure the continued growth and health of our church.

Day 2: "Leading with Humility"

Scripture: Philippians 2:3-4 - "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."

Devotion:

Leadership in the church is characterized by humility and a servant's heart. Paul encourages us to value others above ourselves and to look out for the interests of others. True leadership is not about power or prestige; it is about serving others and putting their needs first.

As we empower new leaders, let us emphasize the importance of leading with humility. This means being willing to listen, learn, and serve. Humble leaders create a healthy and supportive church environment where everyone feels valued and respected. As we execute our outreach strategies, let us model and encourage humble leadership.

Personal Prayer:

Day 3: "Developing a Vision"

Scripture: Proverbs 29:18 - "Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." (KJV)

Devotion:

A clear vision is essential for guiding and inspiring a church community. Without vision, people lack direction and purpose. Vision provides a sense of where we are going and what we are striving to achieve, and it helps align our efforts and resources towards common goals.

As we empower new leaders, let us encourage them to develop and articulate a vision for their ministries. This involves seeking God's guidance, understanding the needs of the community, and setting clear objectives. A well-communicated vision motivates and unites the church, helping us move forward with purpose.

Personal Prayer:

Jesus, help me to develop a clear vision for my life and ministry. Guide me in understanding Your will and purpose. May I inspire and lead others with a vision that aligns with Your kingdom. Amen.

Devotion:

Effective teamwork is crucial for the success of any mission. The Bible emphasizes the importance of working together, as it leads to greater productivity and support. In ministry, teamwork allows us to combine our strengths and talents, making our efforts more impactful.

As we empower new leaders, let us encourage a spirit of collaboration and teamwork. This involves open communication, mutual respect, and a willingness to share responsibilities. By working together, we can accomplish more and support one another in fulfilling our mission.

Devotion:

God is always at work, doing new things in and through His people. Innovation and creativity are vital for adapting to changing circumstances and reaching new people with the gospel. We must be open to new ideas and methods that can help us effectively communicate the message of Jesus.

As we empower new leaders, let us encourage them to be innovative in their approach to ministry. This involves being open to fresh ideas, taking calculated risks, and being willing to try new things. Innovation can lead to new opportunities for outreach and growth, helping us to fulfill our mission in creative and relevant ways.

Scripture: Exodus 18:21 - "But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens."

Devotion:

Delegation is an essential aspect of leadership. It involves entrusting responsibilities to others, allowing them to grow in their roles and contribute to the mission. Jethro's advice to Moses to delegate tasks highlights the importance of sharing the workload and empowering others to lead.

As we empower new leaders, let us practice effective delegation. This means identifying capable and trustworthy individuals, providing them with the necessary resources and support, and giving them the authority to lead. Delegation not only lightens the load but also helps develop the skills and confidence of others.

Personal Prayer:

Jesus, help me to delegate responsibilities wisely. Give me discernment in choosing capable and trustworthy individuals. May I empower others to lead and serve, allowing them to grow and contribute to our mission. Amen.

Scripture: Mark 10:45 - "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Devotion:

Jesus exemplified the heart of a servant. He came not to be served but to serve others, even to the point of sacrificing His life for our salvation. This model of servanthood is one we are called to follow. Serving others with humility and love is a core aspect of our Christian faith.

As we execute our outreach strategies, let us cultivate a culture of service within our church. This involves encouraging one another to serve selflessly, following the example of Jesus. Scripture: Colossians 3:23-24 - "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

Devotion:

Excellence in service is about doing our best in all we do, as if we are serving the Lord Himself. Paul encourages us to work with all our hearts, knowing that our ultimate reward comes from Jesus. Serving with excellence means paying attention to details, being diligent, and striving to do our best in every task.

As we nurture a culture of service, let us encourage one another to serve with excellence. This means being reliable, committed, and going the extra mile in our service. By serving with excellence, we honor God and demonstrate the value we place on the work He has called us to do.

Scripture: Philippians 2:17 - "But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you."

Devotion:

Paul found joy in serving others, even in the midst of personal sacrifice. This joy comes from knowing that our service is an offering to God and that it contributes to the growth and well-being of others. Serving with joy transforms our perspective and makes our efforts more impactful.

As we nurture a culture of service, let us find joy in the act of serving. Whether in small acts of kindness or larger commitments, serving others can bring great fulfillment and satisfaction. Let us encourage one another to serve with a joyful heart, recognizing the privilege of being able to bless others.

Devotion:

The church is described as the body of Christ, with each member serving a unique and important role. Unity in service is essential for the body to function effectively. Each person's contribution, no matter how small, is valuable and necessary for the overall health and mission of the church.

As we nurture a culture of service, let us emphasize the importance of unity. This means appreciating and respecting each other's gifts and contributions, working together towards common goals, and supporting one another. A unified church is a powerful witness to the world and can accomplish great things for God's kingdom.

As we nurture a culture of service, let us focus on equipping our church members. This includes offering workshops, training sessions, and mentorship opportunities. By investing in the development of others, we ensure that our church is well-prepared to meet the needs of our community and fulfill our mission.

Devotion:

Recognizing and honoring those who serve is an important aspect of nurturing a culture of service. When we acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of others, we encourage them and show that their efforts are valued. This recognition can come in the form of public acknowledgment, personal thank-yous, or other expressions of appreciation.

The fruit of the Spirit is evidence of a life transformed by the Holy Spirit. These qualities—love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—reflect the character of Christ and are produced in us as we grow in our relationship with Him.

Discipleship involves a commitment to following Jesus, even when it requires self-denial and sacrifice. Jesus calls us to take up our cross, which means being willing to endure challenges and hardships for the sake of the gospel. True discipleship is about putting Jesus first in all aspects of our lives.

Devotion:

Abiding in Christ is essential for spiritual growth and fruitfulness. Jesus uses the analogy of the vine and branches to illustrate the importance of staying connected to Him. When we abide in Christ, we draw our strength and nourishment from Him, enabling us to bear fruit in our lives.

As we deepen our discipleship, let us prioritize our relationship with Christ. This includes spending time in prayer, studying His Word, and cultivating a close, personal connection with Him. By abiding in Christ, we experience His presence and power in our lives, enabling us to live out our faith effectively.

Growing in grace involves deepening our understanding of God's unmerited favor and love towards us. It is about recognizing that our salvation and spiritual growth are gifts from God, not based on our own efforts. As we grow in grace, we become more aware of God's goodness and our dependence on Him.

As we deepen our discipleship, let us seek to grow in grace. This includes embracing God's forgiveness, extending grace to others, and living with a grateful heart. By growing in grace, we reflect God's love and become more Christ-like in our interactions with others.

As we deepen our discipleship, let us respond to the call of Jesus with dedication. This includes making daily choices that honor Him, seeking His will, and being willing to endure hardships for His sake. By embracing the call to discipleship, we grow in our faith and become more fully devoted followers of Christ.

The Holy Spirit plays a vital role in our discipleship journey. As our Advocate and Teacher, the Holy Spirit guides us into all truth, reminding us of Jesus' teachings and empowering us to live out our faith. The Spirit's presence in our lives is a source of comfort, guidance, and strength.

As we deepen our discipleship, let us be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. This includes seeking the Spirit's guidance in our decisions, relying on the Spirit's power in our ministry, and being attentive to the Spirit's promptings. Devotion:

The Great Commission is the command given by Jesus to all His followers. It calls us to make disciples of all nations, baptize them, and teach them to obey His commands. This mission is at the heart of discipleship and reflects our commitment to sharing the gospel and helping others grow in their faith.

The cost of discipleship is a reminder that our commitment to Christ must be wholehearted and unwavering.

As we deepen our discipleship, let us be mindful of the cost and willing to pay it. Scripture: Romans 10:14 - "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"

Devotion:

The gospel message is urgent because it is the means by which people come to know and believe in Jesus. Paul emphasizes the need for preaching and sharing the gospel so that others can hear and believe. This urgency is rooted in the reality that salvation is found in Christ alone.

As we encourage outreach and evangelism, let us recognize the urgency of sharing the gospel. This includes being intentional in our conversations, looking for opportunities to share our faith, and supporting missionary efforts. By spreading the good news, we fulfill our calling and bring hope to those who need it.

Sharing our testimonies is a powerful way to witness to others about the work of Jesus in our lives. Peter encourages us to be prepared to give an answer for the hope we have, doing so with gentleness and respect. Our personal stories of transformation can be a compelling testimony to God's grace and power.

As we encourage outreach and evangelism, let us be ready to share our testimonies. This includes being open about our faith journey, highlighting the ways Jesus has changed our lives, and being sensitive to the needs and questions of others. By sharing our stories, we invite others to experience the hope and love of Christ.

And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation."

Devotion:

As followers of Christ, we have been given the ministry of reconciliation. This means that we are called to share the message of how God reconciled the world to Himself through Christ, not counting people's sins against them. Our role is to be ambassadors of this message, helping others find peace with God.

As we encourage outreach and evangelism, let us embrace the ministry of reconciliation. Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7 - "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."

Devotion:

Fear can be a significant barrier to evangelism. However, Paul reminds us that God has given us a Spirit of power, love, and self-discipline, not of timidity. This means that we can overcome fear and confidently share the gospel, trusting in the Holy Spirit's empowerment.

As we encourage outreach and evangelism, let us confront and overcome our fears. This includes praying for boldness, relying on the Holy Spirit, and stepping out in faith. By doing so, we can share the message of Jesus with confidence and love, knowing that God is with us.

Devotion:

Paul's approach to evangelism was flexible and creative, adapting to different contexts and audiences to reach as many people as possible. This adaptability is a valuable principle for modern evangelism. By being creative and innovative in our methods, we can effectively communicate the gospel in ways that resonate with diverse groups of people.

As we encourage outreach and evangelism, let us be open to creative approaches. This includes using new technologies, organizing community events, and finding unique ways to share the gospel. By being innovative, we can reach people who might not respond to traditional methods and share the love of Christ in fresh and engaging ways.
